2001/2006 windshield frame compatibility

I am searching for a windshield frame for my TJ 4.0 Sport from 2006. I found one from 2001, would this one fit?

I think they're all interchangeable... it's the inside trim you have to worry about. My 97 doesn't have any...and I think the break was 2001... someone chime in...

So starting from 2003 also the inside trim should fit?

No, the upper trim from an 03-06 windshield is not a direct transfer to a 97-02 windshield frame.

97-02 are the same in that there are no slots for the windshield trim and the visors mount differently. 03-06 are the same with slots for the inner windshield trim that incorporates the retention slot for the ends of the visors instead of a separate tab.

We made one work by carefully locating the upper windshield trim from an 03-06 on the 97-02 windshield frame and strategically drilling screws through the trim into the windshield. Make sure you can latch the visors before drilling. Not ideal, but works.
