2001 TJ pre-purchase frame question

Hi. I’m buying a 2001 tj and the frame is pretty much mint. It’s been replaced. I only found 1 spot with some rust/cracks. At the motor mount on the frame. Has anyone seen this area rust and how intensive and costly would the repair be? I don’t see kits for this section. I’m still thinking the jeep is worth it because it’s clean otherwise. I did a lot of googling and found nothing.

Looks pretty rotten. Not enough metal there to repair. Can’t believe the frame has been replaced looking at that.

that frame is a mint, but it's been half eaten already. you need to change the frame AGAIN !!!

They repaired ALMOST all of the frame. They replaced nothing.

Frame was not replaced, just capped... there should be holes all along that bottom rail. I'd run away from that Jeep as fast as you can...

Yeah, given the history of that frame I would honestly just look for another TJ with a clean frame. There are a lot of them if you look in the right areas.

If you have teeth or like to drink a coke or coffee when driving stick with a TJ. A YJ rides stiffer than a hay wagon, those leaf springs are harsh riding !

You may want to consider coming to the South to purchase. We have TJs sell here for less than $10k, in descent condition… free of rust…

Come on now ! it's a long way down here and really not worth the time and expense. Most of the TJ's down here are badly faded and barely even have paint because it gets so hot. The interiors get sun baked, fade and crack. not including the fact they get mudded up almost weekly.

I had a 97 from Ohio that was like that !
