You can tell me. I can take it...I think.
Don't worry; it's not anything bad. In the spirit of Jeep camaraderie, I would say you might have that hard top priced a bit low, especially since you're including the dolly. All the glass appears to be in good shape and I don't see any chipping at the corners, so assuming the defroster and wiper are working, it's a screaming deal as is.

Thank you. Yes, I realize it is priced on the low side, which Moab was nice enough to point out to me about 35 seconds after I posted it for sale. Appreciate the camaraderie which helps make a Jeep, well a Jeep. Maybe a bit of backstory would help. I purchased the Jeep back in August 2011, with 30k miles on it, for 6k. My boss at the time was moving out of the country and wanted to unload the cars he had at the time. At 6k it was a no brainer...hard top/soft top, 5spd, etc. It now has 71k miles and the frame cracked in two last Thursday. I have no interest in "chasing rust" (which would be a great name for a band by the way) or getting into frame replacements. With two kids, one to be a senior and the other one a junior, monetary resources are focused elsewhere and safer cars are required.

As for the hardtop...rear wiper works, rear defroster works in places...couple of strips here, couple of strips there. Hinges could be replaced if you want a cleaner look and the struts are approaching the end of their useful life but hold the window up maybe 3/4 of the way. The dolly I received for free from one of my wife's friends. I am more interested in a quick sale rather than having it sit in my garage waiting for the right buyer at the "right" price. If someone gets a good deal on a hard top and dolly like I did when I purchased the Jeep, then the Jeep gods will continue to smile down upon me...or strike me down by lightning. I will roll the dice. Its also a win/win...I get to say "I sold my hardtop and dolly for $550!" and someone gets to say "I bought a hardtop and dolly for $550!"

The Jeep itself will most likely ride off into the sunset on a flatbed as a donation. It was a good car for the past ten years, and will be missed. I would park it in the basement next to my swim trophies (first place in many races..1976-1982) but there is no room.

You sure did get a good deal, and good on you for paying it forward for someone else. Best of luck with the sale!

There are some guys on the forum who would be up for the challenge of chasing rust. Might be worth posting in the "Jeeps for sale" thread to see if anyone wants to give you some money for it. That is, unless you really wanted to donate it.
