2002 TJ dome light on with doors off (#4 fuse pull doesn't work)

Like the title says. I pull my #4 fuse behind the glove box... dome light stays on. I can pull a 10 amp from the fuse box under the hood but that kills my radio and who knows what else.

Is ‘02 an oddball year for pulling the #4? With my ‘97 and ‘01 I don’t remember having this issue.

What am I missing?

Double check your dimmer switch is not actively running the dome light.

Check the owners manual. I dont think every year TJ used the same fuse # for door off dome lights off.

Yes it will.

My passenger side switch is not working properly. I have my #4 pulled. But when I need the dome on i hit the dimmer

Not yet. I do not daily drive my jeep and I have been so busy I haven't messed with it. But after some thought, I don't think the dimmer switch is on. Wouldn't the dimmer switch cause the under dash lights to illuminate too? They were not still on after I pulled the #4 like the dome was.

Anyone know if the under dash lights come on if the dimmer is on?

My fuse has been pulled since before I bought the Jeep and really have no idea why people mess with springs or switches.

My under dash lights do come on when I turn the dimmer on the turn signal lever to turn on the lights in sound bar.

You win! Dimmer switch was on, thereby the dome was on. Thanks for the suggestion.
