Hello all,
I have a 2003 stock Rubicon that has 42RLE auto transmission issues.
The Jeep has only 22,000 miles on it and it. The Jeep has sat a lot but never abused, towed anything or had larger tires installed.
A few weeks ago I noticed that the transmission makes a thumping/slipping sound when decelerating to a stop right at 30MPH point. This problem goes away if I disable the overdrive. I have had the fluid and filter changed in the transmission to no effect. I have heard of other issues with this transmission but not this specific problem. Is anyone familiar with this issue?
