Hello All, first time poster but long time reader on here. I have done a significant amount of reading on prior posts but not sure I have seen the combination I am thinking about. I would love some feedback on the feasibility of adding 33" tires with the following combination. This is a daily driver so I don't want to lift any higher than necessary but I also do trails with ratings of fours and fives. I was wondering if I did a 2" suspension lift with a 1.25 body lift and 255/85R16 (33" skinny tires) would rub on full lock and stuffed? What do you think?

You’ll need to cycle your suspension, bump stops, and take into account your actual rig configuration but you should be good.

~2in lift + 1in body on 33s.

Mine's on 2" + 1.25" + skinny 33s. Yours should be fine, but like red02tj said, you should then cycle your suspension and set your bump stops.

What is your gear ratio? You'll likely need to regear.

Please fill out your profile so we can see what you've got without asking. Thanks.

With 33s and 4.10s, and your 42RLE automatic, overdrive will be pretty useless. You might want to regear. The usual recommendation is 5.13, or 5.38 since you have Dana 44 axles on both ends.

Awesome, thanks for all the quick responses. It has the factory 4.10’s.

With the auto it would be tough. It's worth trying, but you'll most likely want to go with higher ratios.

I ran 4.10s on 255/85R16 and 285/75R16 for 20 years with a 5 speed and it was only a serious issue on the highest mountain passes. I've since gone to a higher ratio.

With a 2" suspension lift and a 1.25"

From many, many years ago with some 1.75" spacers, extended bump stops, hand-me-down Pro-comp springs that may have netted 0.5" and 255/85R16s. No body lift. Did Blanca peak , Holy cross and some Moab trails with this setup. But those trails are much more torn up today from what I've seen.

Today, 2.5" springs, no body lift, 285/75R16.

Nobody knows. You didn’t mention your wheel backspace, which is a critical parameter in the equation. Also, are you using an adjustable front track bar? Because you need the axle centered under the rig. And really, a little rubbing is no big deal.

With skinny 33s, you should have little rubbing. Mine has the OEM wheels with 5.5" backspacing, and the only rubbing is when turning lock-to-lock. And a washer under each steering stop solved that.
