Looking at documenting and also getting some assistance as needed on my 03 TJ Sahara w/ mostly stock, as the 3rd owner of 10+ yrs.
I’ll update this as I Build. Hopefully I can go back and edit this thread as the OP.
1-2019_Last weekend worked w/ a buddy to swap out ball joints, track bar, front diff plate & install winch (which has been sitting in garage for 4+ yrs).
Everything went well in the end even after a few delays, which tend to always happen...except for somehow the RE track bar that was ordered was for a non stock TJ with a lift of 3.5”-4.5”. I was wanting a adjustable that I could use in my lift going forward with being able to use it currently at it’s stock height. Being that the holes for the OEM trackbar had to be enlarged for the RE Trackbar, it’s currently got the OEM Trackbar on it w/ enlarged holes.
Currently this is my setup as of January 2019. Anyone have any suggestions of what options I have at this point? I was looking to hold off till spending more time/money till a bit later on lifting it. If anything, even though it may not be as pleasing to the eyes, I’ll have to hold off changing out the wheels/tires for now, even if I wind up lifting it.

Year/Model - 2003 TJ Jeep Sahara
Tires: 31 x 10.50 - BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A
Wheels: OEM
Engine 4.0 -6 cyl- 5 speed (OEM Exhaust & Intake)
Axles - Dana 44 rear
30 front
Tops - OEM Hard & soft

Current Height - 5-10 or 11”
Garage height - 6-9 or 10”. (Needs to be able to clear)

Upgrades/Replacements
January 2019 (Both Ball Joints, Frt Diff Cover, Track Bar, Winch)
Ball Joints - changed out and replaced to Dana Spicer 706944X 30/40
Diff Covers - changed out front (Dana 30) Diff cover/fluid to G2 Axle & Gear Alum Hammer Diff Cover
Track Bar - Rubicon Express RE1600 Adjustable Front Track Bar for 3.5-4.5” lift attempted to be installed, but OEM had to be put back on.
Winch - H Freight 1200lbs Bad Lands winch & plate finally installed

A few pics for last weeks work

I appreciate it... mine has very low miles & obviously not my DD as I’ve waited this long to do this much work on it. What are you looking to do on yours?

Honestly I don't know it was my daily driver for a long time ( I have had it since 2004) but now I have 2 little kids and its my backup car.. I have always been in the keep it running mentality but now I'm getting the bug.. I know I need new springs so I'm thinking eventually an OME 2 inch lift but I may be doing a full exhaust first. If I need to do that it might just have to be a 1 inch spacer lift for now.. So what trouble did you run into with your lift ?

So far I haven’t done anything to a lift...except a lot of research. I was looking at doing a 2.5-4” anyways.. just not this soon. A buddy of mine who helped me a lot with the work I did, has 35s & a 4” w/ a Banks full Exhaust. It sounds very good and seems to ride very well also. We didn’t go very far so unsure of longer rides or such.
