I have a 2004 Jeep TJ 4.0 with exhaust issues. I recently spent a lot of time removing the intake and exhaust manifolds and replaced the gaskets. I replaced all of the mini-cat nut plates on the manifold and all was good for a while with a tight exhaust system. The jeep sat in my garage for about 3 weeks and I started driving it this week and now I am getting a CEL for catalytic converter inefficiency (don't remember the code) which is pointing toward replacing the cat. I have new oxygen sensors installed on the mini-cats (Chrysler OEM not aftermarket). Seems like every time I turn the key on this jeep it's a new problem. I think it was driven in salt water at some point, and the frame washed down, but not the rest so well. I am looking at probably replacing the whole system, since the muffler is heavily rusted, but the mini-cats look OK. I dont think the cat is in very good shape... prior owner probably didn't get the salt water rinsed off very well.
I have been looking at exhaust systems and the price is all over the place. I am looking for just a stock system replacement that doesn't require any modifications to install and works well. Any recommendations on a descent system with a good price point??? (I do not need a California/Colorado/New York CARB compliant system.)
