2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon. 4.0L with 42RLE automatic transmission. ~194,000 miles.
Sienna Pearl Paint. Rebuilt from salvage title due to rollover. Windshield frame, hood, and fenders were only parts that were damaged. Replaced windshield with OEM replacement in same paint. Fenders are MCE 4.5" Flat Fenders. Hood was not replaced but still functions fine with medium sized dent in driver side at Rubicon logo.
Pros:
(5) 35x12.5R17 tires with good tread on Jeep JK rims and spacers. Date code 2022
Yukon 4.88 gears in the stock Rubicon Dana 44 axles
4WD with Rubicon transfer case and stock lockers work as they should, although you have to practice your S-turns to get the rear to engage
Metalcloak 4.5" Lock'N'Load long arm lift kit w/ RockSport shocks: https://metalcloak.com/tj-wrangler-4-5in-lock-n-load-long-arm-suspension.html
Windshield has no cracks and both door windows roll up and down
A/C and heat work well
Interior is in mostly good condition, the driver seat has some cracking in the seat base
Rugged ridge heavy duty rear tire carrier
Jeep passed emissions on 5/31
Clean frame
Cons:
Soft top (Bestop Trektop) has no back window and the soft top windshield header is cracked. However, this does not affect the function of the soft top. One small 1 inch diameter hole in the top of the soft top over the driver side roll bar.
Previous owner told me that the transmission loses all gears when it gets cold. If the Jeep sat outside for more than a few hours while it was below freezing all gearing would be lost and the shifter would have to be rocked back and forth to engage, but once it was up to temp and if started warm no issues occurred. Never experienced it myself as it was too warm out after I purchased Jeep but worth mentioning. Otherwise the Jeep has ran great for me, although I have never taken it above 50mph.
Engine either has a rear main seal leak or a valve cover leak or both. Pretty consistent leak apparent while sitting
Rear passenger axle seal is leaking
A couple minor dings in the driver door and tub
Overall a really nice Jeep. Rebuilt from salvage title in my name; Jeep can be registered immediately (in Colorado at least) as it has been inspected by the state police and passed emissions (will provide emissions cerificate).
