He was north of salt lake, forgot the name

I just went and checked on my LJ and they have checked all the brakes and disconnect driveshafts and checked axles and have now come to conclusion it may be the transfer case or transmission?.
When driveshaft was loose they got no binding up, but when shaft wasnā€™t connected it wouldnā€™t spin ...heā€™s going to take transfer case down and see if anything is wrong in there.

Jeep update.

We found out today it does not bind any at all once the vehicle is turned off. We found the temperature on the trans fluid is reading over 1000 degrees which would be a sensor problem. But all I am coming up with for a sensor is built into the valve body in the transmission. I am going to talk with Marc at the transmission shop and make sure that is correct tomorrow. If thatā€™s the case it would be best if he did it. If itā€™s external we are gonna try that first! Will let you know something else tomorrow!....

The 42RLE has a thermistor incorporated into the range sensor. Also: with the engine running, the L/R clutches are engaged in neutral so it wonā€™t feel like a true neutral.

Iā€™d be interested to find if/how this is resolved.

Is that located inside or on the outside of the trans.?

Inside, on top of the valve body.

Iā€™ve had an issue similar to what youā€™ve described for about 2.5 years/20,000 miles. It often feels like something is dragging, other times everything feels normal. Early on, I went to a transmission specialist. The GM and I went for a drive and, while he agreed it felt like something was hold it back, he didnā€™t think it was the transmission.

After 20,000 miles, I figure something would have exploded, or at least clearly worn or failed. Iā€™m hoping you find a solution.

Interesting... I sure hope it is that... Iā€™ll keep ya posted!..it does kinda come and go.. sounds like the same thing as youā€™ve experienced.. theyā€™ve checked diff, brakes, transfer case, e brake.. itā€™s no rush so they are getting to it when then can...

This is his reply back to me when I asked how itā€™s going .... someone just told me the anti/lock box could be the issue or the valve body??

So.. after several people getting involved still no answer yet.. the mechanic has only gotten one weird reading and that is the trans temp is reading 1000 degrees... they also said once the ignition is turned off, all 4 wheels free up.. but as soon as you start the vehicle and press the brake, it like the brakes are pressed, the trans guy didnā€™t think it would be anything in the trans but Iā€™m still searching for answers.....
