*TJ Corners and Rocker Kit Update*

@mrblaine was kind enough to offer his time/skill to test fit the TJ Corners and Rocker Kit for me. Things went well. There a number of small changes that will be made to refine and correct some of the features. The most change will happen to the rash guard. I’m going to move the top edge further up for more coverage. The other changes are mostly moving hole locations etc. I think it went extremely well for a first arrival test fit on a vehicle I don’t have in my driveway at the moment. Over the next few weeks I will make the suggested changes and verify with Blain to make sure I don’t miss anything. Can’t thank him enough for his help and feedback!

I will be adding a few holes around the wheel well. They will be covered by the OE/aftermarket flares.

Not commented before, but you are ding some fantastic work. I wish the cost of shipping to the UK was not so prohibitive.

I do have one, really basic question, about the rocker design, which I can't see covered in the thread (apologies if it is elsewhere). What is the rationale for the two piece design? Does the combination result in a lower weight overall, more strength or is it about aesthetic alignment with the corner guards?

I went back quite a few pages but didn't see the price on the bumper and winch plate. Maybe you could recap the pricing of each of your parts? They look awesome and ill probably be inline for the feont bumper, winch plate, soft shackle recovery points and windshield light mounts.

I'm just west of Orlando so could probably pick parts up.

@UKTJ The 6061 Aluminum Backer combined with the rash guard does a few things. First it saves a significant amount of weight, second the rash guard is replaceable and adds a ton of strength when laminated or layered on the top of the aluminum. The aesthetics is second to the above although I do have details I like and don’t like that make it into the designs.

Thanks

@GTTJ
The front bumper is $549.99.
Aluminum Hinges $324.99
Soft Shackle mounts $149.99
Carrier for above hinges $199.99
LJ corners are $749.99
LJ rockers are $824.99
TJ corners $TBA this week
TJ rockers $TBA this week

I’m in the Ocala area so pick up is definitely possible. Please email me [email protected] to get on the order list.

That all makes perfect sense. If I understand correctly steel is about 2.5 times heavier than same size aluminium, so an aluminium backer with a steel rash guard half that size in same thickness will, as you say, net an overall weight saving. As you say, the result is significantly stronger. When I looked at getting something fabricated the challenge was the bend radius that can be achieved on the aluminium without risk of cracking. But from the pictures it seems you have managed to achieve a good profile on the backer plate - maybe that is because you have two 45 degree-ish bends rather than a 90 degree. What radius bend have you managed to achieve?

The bumpers look absolutely fantastic as well.

Your correct, the radius of the die matters when working with 6061. Minimum I would use is .5”. There is also a significant amount of spring back compared to other materials.

Thanks!

TJ Rocker and Corner files are done.

Notable changes to rockers include extended up towards the door sill for more coverage. These will be available with or without logo in the rash guard.

Notable changes to corners include added 4 mounting holes around wheel well and changed the “nose” area where the corner ends in the door jam.

TJ Corners are $699.99 includes internal 6061 .5” Aluminum tub braces and all hardware.

TJ Rocker kits are $749.99 includes .1875” 6061 base plates, .1875” P.O. steel rash guards, .5” 6062 Aluminum tub braces, and all hardware.
