2004 LJ In Flux

Have a couple of you guys waiting on LJ rockers and bumpers. Parts are cut and should be bent this next week. Tj rocker kits should get cut next week and bent the following. Thanks for your patience.

New test fit parts day! Tailgate plate and cowl guards. Cowl guards won’t get any attention for a few weeks. I have some parts to finish and a local jeep show coming up on October 12th.

Tailgate skin has OE hinge and carrier holes. Latch should sit flush with two additional countersunk fasteners on the latch side.

What about a non highline….

Yep, on the list. I have an idea that if works I’ll transfer to a few versions.

Seems like everyone is cutting out around the body side hinge due to the upper hinge mount being integrated into the windshield bracket.

I got a set of factory take off windshield brackets from eBay for $25. I’m going to cut off the hinge barrel, and use the same lower body side hinge barrel for the upper. This way I can stack the body hinges on top of the aluminum for strength. I need to get the body side lower hinge and some door side hinge spacers. If it works I’ll make door skin.

The Base plate will be 6061-T6 with the large radius bends, one small bend or "kink" at the door sill to help keep gaps to a minimum and two bends and wheel to wheel. The outer skin is P.O. .1875 with matching bends. Tubing is 1/34 .120 wall with pretty simple bends and miters. I have a friend that wants a version with .125 outer skid plate and NO tube. I am interested how well that would hold up to abuse, seems with the aluminum backer the plate cant move very far and will do fine. I love how Savvy rockers fit and work but I changed where the fasteners go on the bottom side and changed the outer skid plate design. I think the savvy kit is perfection with stock fenders. I am not running stock fenders and wanted a different look. All input is appreciated. Thanks!

Fluxor, did you end up making this one? I like it!

No not yet. I have few orders for the standard version that are in front of this. I have one on the works but it has not been made. Tubing will be 1.5x.120 wall. Same idea. I have no idea how much it will add to the cost, yet.

Awesome! I sent you an email to ask about cost of the standard one. You're killing it with your products.

I have been told my parts will be done at the break press by Tuesday. I have a local jeep event this next weekend and will try and get the orders for LJ rockers and Corners billed and shipped out. The front bumpers and steel rear bumper with hitch takes some welding time so they will be the following week. Thanks for you patience.

I also ordered everything for the Aluminum rear bumper proto type and hope to be test fitting that in around 4 weeks. If all goes well I will provide pricing to those that have placed orders and get the ball rolling with the first batch.

Thanks again,

Tailgate skin fits nicely. .1875 6061. I drilled the hole for the tag light. I have another one with this hole configuration. Hinge, OE spare tire carrier, latch and lock with two more counter sink fasters at the latch side ready to ship if anyone is interested. I did have to open up the hinge holes but that was super easy. I can start taking orders for them if you guys want different hole configurations. It’s easy for me to have them deleted during the nest process. $159.99

Now I need to figure something out for the torque box under the tailgate.

I’d like to start some threads with install pics for individual parts so they are easy to access. What part of the forum would you guys suggest something like that?

I'd guess in the General Tech area but ask @Chris where he'd want it.

We survived the hurricane with no real damage. But the important thing is parts are bent and are one step closer to being shipped! I took the time stuck inside to redesign the spare tire carrier. I needed to make something that takes less finesse to weld together and a overall simpler design. I like it, no logo lol.
