31 inch tires automatic 42RLE
Ive noticed on a Flat road, Freshly Surfaced
when in overdrive ive got a slight shudder and lugging with a steady speed
goes away when i lift off the throttle and then shifts down. then when i push the throttle there is still a slight vibe
THEN
when i flip the OD switch canceling out the overdrive it all goes away and ive got a nice peppy jeep very responsive to my foot on the pedal up or down

what say you all?

cheers
John

It's normal for the 42rle. Even worse if your Jeep came with 3.07 gears. I shut the OD OFF every time I drove any of my Jeeps with that trans (Transmission, not a man playing female sports). 🤫 🇺🇸

@AndyG on here has done it and will chime in when he gets this notice. He's been at his real job since daylight. 🇺🇸
p.s. @John Cooper told me NOT to take his advice on lug nut torque specs. ;)

THANK YOU

Just go to the how to section and find the overdrive off mod-

You use a relay and install behind the dash that is triggered by the reverse pulse that happens when you throw it in drive. Works every time.

Just don’t confuse it with the left rear wheel off mod.

Watch the RPM when it shudders.
If it's low, you're lugging the engine.
If it's high, you might have a slipping torque converter.
