2006 Jeep Wrangler Hood Prop Rod Clip

Is there a good replacement for the factory one ? Mine keep breaking, poor set up, I need help finding one that doesn't break so easy. I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler 65th edition... Thanks.

I've never seen one other than the stock one. How do you keep breaking it? I've never broken mine, and I have the hoop up often!

i ordered one on ebay and broke it trying to install it......what a horrible design. I now tie my hood prop up to the hood with a bicycle pedal toe strap

Yes it is, and costly too.

Appears to be the oem one...maybe you could try to fab one up with a metal cabinet catch.

When I replace rod into it, it seems hard to do, and it just breaks in half...

Maybe you could find something like this at the hardware store, and modify it to hold the rod (the part on the left):

I was just thinking I needed a new one as well, but $16 for a little plastic clip? Liking the cabinet latch idea better anyway.

I bought my LJ with a broken one. bought a replacement, and it broke in 2 weeks. Bent a hanger, and zip-tied it on, and it has lasted 4 years. I won't be replacing it.

hmm I have never broken mine and I am never gentle or careful with it.

I guess now that I said that the next time I open my hood murphy's law will stike LOL
