Damn I wish you had full doors to go along with it because I would be making a pretty sweet offer on the silver half doors.

You guys are all half door vultures

I wish I could find a set of friggin' khaki half doors I tell ya.

I keep wavering back and forth with the half doors. I honestly took my full doors off back in early June and haven't put them back on. I just put my besttop doors on this weekend to test it in the rain.

I can say that here in Arizona the weather is warm enough all year round that you really don't need full doors or a hard top ever, unless maybe you commute long distances and want to cut down on wind noise.

I like half doors pretty much as well as no doors but there is a difference in how much wind you get.

I was cold today with no doors and came back home for my truck.

The full cloth two piece doors? I thought about those but I dont care for the mirror solutions available with those lowers.

Yes. When i bought the Jeep the PO had these terrible mirror relocations. I replaced them with Quadrtec CJ styles. They whistle a bit at faster speeds and shake but I don't really need them. What I love about the fabric doors is that I can toss them behind the seat in case of rain.

The Jeep is scheduled to go on BaT.

That being said, I’ll keep this ad up until it goes on BaT or if it sells before that.
Ok - link me when that happens. I've been tempted to throw mine up there to see what I'd get out of it. I figure I could get enough to trade up and pick up one of my all-time favorites (and drive my son crazy) - an E39 M5. I'm just not sure if my wife would allow me to get rid of the Jeep...

I’ve owned an E39 M5 before. Believe me when I say you’ll regret it, trust me. Those things are some of the biggest money pits you’ll ever own, and they ALWAYS have something wrong with them.

Oh, I know what I'm signing up for. When I got my first "real" job back when I was 19, I put a picture up in my cube of an E39 M5 (that was new at the time) and an R34 Skyline GT-R. I promised myself to own one of those one day.

I'm a glutton for punishment...and in love with my garage and working on cars. I'm ready to retire and open up my new repair/restoration shop - "Toretto's Tacos & Auto Repair"...becuz tacos are good.

Okay, as long as you know what you're getting into. I owned 3 E36 M3s, then an E46 M3, and finally an E39 M5. That M5 made me swear off BMWs altogether. Awesome cars to drive when they are working, but I don't think they are ever running without something wrong. My entire dashboard was like a Christmas tree light. You'd manage to get rid of one light and another would pop right back up.

Anyways, fun cars for sure, but oddly I have more fun in a Jeep than any of the fast cars I've ever owned, including my Hellcat.

I'll post the BaT link though once it goes on there. I've paid the listing fee, just waiting for them to put the auction together for me.

I bet you get over 18K on BAT...to bad it is a stick.....

That's the hope, I guess we will see.

Some love manuals, some hate them. I prefer them for sure, especially after owning the shitbox that is the 42RLE :ROFLMAO:

My son just bought an 2001 E39 530i Dinan Stage 2. It's a slick & solid built car (he taught himself how to drive manual with it - I was pretty impressed)...and I'm waiting for the repairs it's going to need soon. Within a week of buying it, he had to put in both rear door window regulators. LOL I figure its a good tool to teach him how to work on cars...and to also learn patience. ;)

I'm really good at working on cars, but I prefer mine as simple as possible. As I'm sure you're aware, those BMWs are pretty sophisticated to work on due to how complicated they are and all the electronic systems. You have to have the software diagnostic tools and knowledge to know how to program the modules, etc.

My major gripe with my M5 was that I was fixing it way more than I was driving and enjoying it. That and the fact that most parts for it are no longer made, and the parts that are cost a small fortune.

Heard from BaT this afternoon:

“Hi Chris,

Thanks for choosing BaT and for checking in on your listing.

We have hundreds of listings in progress and our team treats each one with the same care and attention to detail.

Due to our higher volume, a listing is generally assigned to a specialist around three to four weeks after your listing fee has been paid - late November in your case. We work on listings in the order they are received; please allow our team some more time to reach out to you with an update.

If you need anything in the meantime, let me know and I am happy to assist.”

Looks like I’ll have to wait a while. Hopefully it will sell in the meantime. I really need some garage space back 😆

Wow that blows. Is a listing still $100?
