I imagine u can drive up to about 75 mph before switching OD on.

Hasn’t been an issue no more than it’s on the highway, but thanks for the input…

I don’t understand your response.

Maybe u missed the point.

4.88 gears are still pretty high for a 42RLE so u should be good for taking 3rd gear up to around 75 before needing OD.

This could be good for avoiding OD if your front drive shaft doesn’t shake your Jeep at higher rpms like it does for some.

Sorry, I probably did misunderstand your statement, as several people have felt obligated to let me know what I already knew about how high the overdrive gear is in that trans., and that 4:88’s are wrong.

I drove more than one set up similar to mine with 5:13’s, and for what I built it for (my yougest son) to light wheel and cruise west Texas and NM trails as well as around town, I went a little higher. We’ve got a couple of JK’s with LS 3’s that we play with as well, and drive quite a bit more. I’m actually torn on even selling it, as junior thinks he wants a truck is the only reason it’s listed.

And yes, you’re pretty close on the highway speeds vs OD etc., but it is super smooth with no vibrations at any speed or rpm’s.
