2006 TJ Rubicon—Replacing the entire front end of my rock crawler

Following with interest! I put a Full Traction long arm kit on my XJ and the arms are STOUT! When I swapped my axles, a bolt was siezed in one of the heim joints, and it was impossible to get it out. Only 1 shop in town had a heim that big in stock to replace it.

Full traction usually goes like this:
  1. "Full Traction" kit  never heard of her.
  2. Googles
  3. What the FUCK is that bolt-on, bumpsteer, abomination?

Per Full Traction website (typical marketing speak)

"The 4.0-inch Long Arm lift system for Jeep TJ models is a complete replacement suspension system. It utilizes 4 link front axle mounting for a true and correct caster curve throughout the entire range of linear wheel travel. Other systems using radius arms, medium length arms called "long arms" and the rest can't match its performance.

For the rear axle, it gets better. Utilizing a true long arm rear 3 link, the upper triangulated bar pivots on a high-misalignment uni-ball joint. This eliminates the need for a rear axle track bar. The result, is incredible linear wheel travel and axle articulation, without the binding caused by the rear track bar. All control arms feature silent ride rubber bushing and require 0% lubrication maintenance. Heavy Duty skid plate protects the NP231 Transfer Case.

This system offers hard core Rock-crawling performance from a system that rides and steers BETTER than stock. Do you drive your TJ daily? You now can without compromised handling. The perfect geometry of our rear triangulated link eliminates chassis yaw and adds to stability at freeway speeds. No other system available offers this advanced configuration.

You want tough? All components in this suspension system are built for maximum off road punishment. We use 2" x .250" wall DOM tubing for our lower trailing arm assemblies for serious rock dragging, and 1/4" plate laser crafted bracketry throughout.

This is a fully bolt-on system. No welding required to install. Rear CV drive shaft/SYE on Non-Rubicon models and Exhaust system available."

After some google image searches... I think this is what we have

Looks like this is a picture of the rear

A lot of our guys use them for both moderate, and heavy-duty, rock crawling - mostly because of their reliability and strength. The last couple of years have seen many improvements, and they ride great.

New front axle is here, long-arm kit will be here next week. Time to start cutting brackets and removing the gas tank. I have a friend ready to weld the trust to my rear axle housing for the 3-link! A lot more coming soon!

Might want to look into who makes a non aluminum diff cover for that axle. I drag my steel one a lot, don't think the sharp hits would be good for aluminum cover.

You know, I have been thinking the same thing, I am not sure Aluminum can handle the rocks! My diff seems to like rocks a lot! I know Rustys makes one. I currently run a Riddler diff cover and I really like how it handles the punishment. Now that I have the assembly in I'll start looking.

I hope Full Traction has better service then Hanson Offroad (owned by the same guy as Full Traction). I ordered a rear bumper from Hanson and it didn't show up for 10 months, and every time I called them they said it was shipping out "next week"...I love the Hanson bumpers I have, but their customer service blows, the worst company I have ever dealt with...and I will never buy a product from them again.

If I recall correctly, I read somewhere a few years ago that G2 had a proprietary diff cover and other diff covers wouldn't work. I think now though that Rustys makes a steel one that fits the Core 44 only.
