Here in Manitoba, you can register your Jeep (CJ, YJ & TJ) as a truck if you remove the back seat & seat belts and save yourself approx $30 per month off your insurance. This I did recently. Now I have a sheet of plywood over the trunk area and soon to have it split in 2. One side will have a sliding drawer and the other for tools or whatever. (Pics to follow)


With waiting for the parts list that I recently ordered, I have also ordered the following as of yesterday:

From Trail Tubes - Full Roll Cage, Drop Tire Carrier, Tube Doors & Fender Flares.

A week ago I decided to splurge and order RCV Axles, these arrived yesterday and the install will begin this Saturday.

Instructions look fairly straight forward for the install & slight mod you need to do the steering knuckles.

Once its completed I will upload the pics of the install, etc.

NOTE: For anyone ordering LED lighting, Rough Country is the only company that supplies covers for lights with almost all their lights (not curved bars though). Race Sport supplies amber colored lenses for their 4 inch pods. Companies like Rigid Industries charges for their covers.

Once I have the remainder of lights installed I will post pics.

That thing looks like an alien spacecraft with all those lights, haha!

I know they are LEDs, but I wonder how your battery / alternator will handle it with all these lights?

Alternator has already been upgraded to 160 amp Durango alternator.

Battery has been upgraded to a NorthStar battery (soon to be running dual dry cell batteries).

I enjoyed checking out your build - how do you like the rear bumper and tire carrier? With all that off roading you do, any problems with the durability or ease in swinging the tire carrier open and shut? I'm thinking I'd like a bumper mounted tire carrier but there are so many out there and not a lot to talk about them. If there is talk, I can't find it.
 
I was just wondering if you've ordered the TMR Customs Universal Transmission Mount yet? I've been thinking about getting one, and just looking for opinions on it.

I guess I can't really complain for too much about the tire carrier, it has held up somewhat good. I would suggest if you do buy it, drill it out and insert a zerk fitting to keep the pivot point greased. If not, you'll need a winch to swing the carrier open. But it also depends on the climate that you live in, here in Winnipeg (Canada), they use alot of salt for our winter roads and that crap eats metal up.
