Hi everyone,

As a borderline addict I do check TJ ads frequently. Yesterday, I came across a find that for our local (Greece) market is considered at least rare. It's a black one-owner low milage (84k km or ~ 51k miles) 2006 Sahara completely stock. It is accompanied by a book service showing it has been serviced at the dealership and later at one of the very few reputable Jeep-specific garages at regular intervals, as it should.

Long story short, all the documentation is in place and the owner seemed to be the king of guy who crosses the Is and dots the Ts. Moreover, the smog test certificate (passed every two years here in Greece) registers the milage at each inspection to the ministry of transportation, so I asked for it to cross check that no monkey business has taken place and completely matches the service intervals.

The only thing that I would like to be different is the Jeep to be a manual and here starts my point of view where I need you to brainstorm ideas.

My current TJ (full built in the description) is also automatic and I would really like to drive a manual once in a while, though not everyday in city traffic.

I'm searching for an ideal combo of two builds where with two TJs I can cover all of the following;
- a daily driver (has to be an auto and max 31" tires, as my current TJ and only vehicle)
- a road trip cruiser (able to cruise at the speed limit in the highways (130kph in Greece or 80mph)
- a capable off-roader (not much more that the goodies I have but maybe switch from 31” to 33''s)
- a quick Jeep (I'm thinking forced induction, possibly a SC kit)
- a clean Jeep (although I do enjoy topless and dirty -in Jeeps as well ;)-, I always liked the idea to have a vehicle that you enjoy seeing after washing it)
- a marketable Jeep (be relatively easily to sell if need be, without having broken the bank and losing a huge amount of money)

Thanks for your consideration and fire away any ideas on how to combine the above characteristics in the best possible way with two TJs!

The guy is clearly OCD (like myself :rolleyes:) and on top a neat freak as he told he has taken the hardtop off only once and didn't like the fact that dust going in.

He has all 4 floor mats and a factory soft top in his garage in unused condition!

Price is not a bargain but I believe it's worth it. Guy is asking 23k and managed to negotiate 1k out of it on a pre-inspection basis the old set of tires.

I believe that since many of the seals will need to be replaced due to the big intervals it has been parked throughout the years, that I can chop another thousand and close at 21k.

AX-15 swap isn't hard. You'd need parts from Advance Adapters or @NovakConversions - both can sell you the transmission and bellhousing. You'd need a Luk clutch kit and master/slave. You probably could source the pedal box from Davey's Jeep or Dead Jeeps. @Wranglerfix can reprogram your PCM.

Thanks for the info. I’m already studying the auto to manual swaps but also need to find a shop I trust to do it.

Why AX15 and not NV3550?
