Greetings All,
First and foremost, I do want to thank all that contribute your experience to this forum...it has been a "Godsend" to me while bringing this '97 TJ back to life! What I'm looking for now has been touched on a time or two, but I've not really found the answer I've been looking for. Not that it doesn't exist amongst all the various posts...I just haven't found it.
Here's the situation. I currently have the dreaded 3.07 gearing in this 4.0 Sport, 5-Speed Manual, 31x10.5, and it is my understanding that both the Dana30 and 35 will require a carrier change to upgrade to a 4.10 Ring & Pinion (and limited slip). Having already returned armloads of various non-fitting parts I want to try and get this right. Is there a good manufacturer out there producing a "set" for these axles that members have tried and proven. It seems for every brand out there I see each extreme of opinion from the "Best" to "Worst" on the same product. I promise I'll get a couple of pics posted and will put together the story and process behind the resurrection of my 'barn find' TJ. Thanks in advance for any guidance on this!

A set of what? If gears then get revolution gear if you want the best.

If carriers then you probably won't go wrong with spicer. But they aren't sold in sets.

If you are paying a shop to regear then let them source the parts(hopefully revolution).otherwise they likely won't warranty the axles.just labor.

Thanks for the inputs! I'll take it onboard and have a look at Spicer and Revolution.
- That is a great suggestion and I absolutely have looked at getting the axles from an old SE, but they seem to be the first thing parted out and my timing has been terrible.
Thanks again!

I've been looking for a deal on some 4.10s out of an SE awhile now myself, hopefully I find some before I'm ready to upgrade to lockers.

I'd prefer 4.56 for 31x10.5, if wanting 4.10 then I'd try for the junkyard axles if mentioned above. If I'm sourcing parts and doing a regear on the stock axles, then I'm choosing 4.56. Revolution sells "sets" of gears for Dana 30/35. Typically with a choice of Timken or Koyo bearings as well.

I have kept an eye open, not in a particular rush. At present I'm updating bumpers for tire carrier and winch and have a Luk clutch set awaiting install...plenty to do while awaiting gear availability or axles. Also planning to drop the tank for ease of the back bumper install and will also be changing pressure regulator in hopes of curing the dreaded looong crank to start issue. Thank you All for your inputs...this Forum is VERY helpful in getting the old '97 back in shape.

I'm in this process now (well accumulating and planning really). For some reason I've found 4.56s twice. First set I should have bought as they were done and ready but it was too much $ too soon. Just got another pair of 4.56 but can only use front Dana 30 and trutrac carrier from rear (it's a Dana 35 from a zj). So I'll get rear done at a shop and swap the front which is open.

It also gives room to grow to 33s if I or some future buyer wants. I suspect it's the people that get 33's are more likely to want more later like a Dana 44 set on 35s and so end up selling the 4.56's
