Lower 48. I would agree.
it’s a different breed of people up here.
For sure. I’d be there but I don’t think my wife and kids would own it. My aunt owns a island and loves it!

I don't get all the hype about In-And-Out - I really don't. Its "racetrack food", what you'd get at the Watsonville Speedway or the county faire. Its not that its bad, its OK, its just not particularly good; and certainly not anything close to all the hype. "Mac Shack" is my fave, BK is OK, I like Wendy's. We don't have What-a-Burger here, but I seem to recall liking them. 5 guys is OK, although I don't care for their fries (Nobody beat's McDonald's fries. Nobody.). Not familiar with Shake Shack, although the similarly named Steak n Shake has mediocre burgers - and fantastic shakes. Love Carl's Jr. out of all the National chains, but their eastern branch, Hardee's, has a different menu - or at least did last time I was in one. They’re building one by me, all the damn Californians are losing their minds. I’ve eaten there, I’d still go the arches myself. Alternatively shake shack will be empty for a bit until people realize how mediocre In-And-Out is.
Checkers is just Rally's. Like Carl Jr's is to Hardee's.I don't get all the hype about In-And-Out - I really don't. Best burger I've had in a long time was at an old fashioned drive up in the next town over - and most importantly, you can get MALTS there. Why don't any of the national chains have MALTS?!? While I'm talking about shakes/malts, I'm more than slightly irritated at the trend that McD's started with their damn "McCafe". McD's shakes were never particularly good, but then they started calling them "Hand Spun" or some such nonsense, added whipped cream (which I can take or leave), REDUCED THE SIZE, INCREASED THE PRICE! Most of the fast food industry has followed suit. I used to be able to get a huge, and I mean HUGE, shake at Carl's Jr. Now they're tiny, and expensive. And Denny's doesn't even give you the metal mixing cup anymore either. GRRRRRRR! I call it the "Starbucks-ization" of the fast food milkshake! Same crappy shake, smaller size, higher price.
We actually have a Sonic here - I've never tried them. I supposed I should - along with something called "Checkers"...
Now I've never even heard of Rally's. I need to step into a Hardee's again - last time I was in one, which was several years ago now, their menu was nothing like Carl's Jr. *shrug*Checkers is just Rally's. Like Carl Jr's is to Hardee's.
Their seasoned fries are like no other out there. I would try at least once if I were you.Now I've never even heard of Rally's. I need to step into a Hardee's again - last time I was in one, which was several years ago now, their menu was nothing like Carl's Jr. *shrug*
There's one within easy walking distance of my house - I need to try them and Sonic both.Their seasoned fries are like no other out there. I would try at least once if I were you.
Every single sonic around Dayton ohio went out of business. Says a lot about how good their food is.There's one within easy walking distance of my house - I need to try them and Sonic both.

Looks like someone needs a Dometic fridge, mine goes to -8I've said the same thing to people I know around here that are getting all excited. It's like they've been told how good it is by pop culture and just accept it as fact. I've eaten there while visiting California a few times and it just doesn't seem like anything special to me. I just chalk it up to Californians thinking everything from California is innately better than everything that isn't from California.
All that said...I'm from Oklahoma and among fast food places to get a burger, I'll go for Sonic over BK or McD's every day of the week and twice on Sunday. It can be a tossup against Carl's Jr/Hardee's because I love that western bacon cheeseburger. I like Sonic's tots better though, and sometimes childhood nostalgia puts me in the mood for a footlong chili cheese dog.
I still get their cherry limeades too, but if you're ever driving through KS, TX, OK, or AR and see a Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy store, they make a cherry limeade that will make you forget anybody else has ever even made a cherry limeade. Their burgers are better than pretty much any of the aforementioned places too (the closest we have locally I would probably say is Culvers), and their ice cream is good enough that I've attempted bringing 3 gallons of it home in a cooler before. Most of it made it, but the combination of getting a little warmer (still frozen, but ice cream likes to be below 0) plus the altitude gave me a mess to clean up. Even their milk has a richer flavor and mouthfeel to it; I read an article years ago about why but it has something to do with the way they process it. It all comes out of their ranch and dairy farm outside Tuttle, OK, which is about an hour or so southwest of Oklahoma City.
