31" tires on a JK?

I just bought a 2012 2 door wrangler, I do not need tires at this time, do not have a lot of time to go wheeling. I just plan to trail ride anyway. I looked up the stock tires set up and it say 16 inch tires, but I have 255/75/17s on it now. If I did the math right it equals 31's. So my question is can I put some 31 off road tires and be fine?? I do not know if it has a lift on it or not. I do not get rub now. Still new to the jeep thing, last one I had was a 98 on some 15s but did not have it long.
 
You would be better off asking that on the other forum with a similar name. Remove the tj in the middle. This one is dedicated to the TJ model. That said I think a jk would handle 31's just fine.

31s will be more than fine on a JK, no doubt about it! you could run 33s without issue to be honest.
