31 tooth speedometer gear with 33s and 3.73s?

anybody got 33's and 3.73 gears and went to the 31 tooth speedometer gear.....is it accurate?

So I have to imagine it would be accurate.

thank you chris I used your chart to know which one to buy in the first place...gps says it is about 1-2 mph fast...but which one is really correct?

It depends on how accurate your gps is.

At what speed is it off 1-2 MPH?
@ anything over 65 i wouldn't worry

That is strange. I would call it good.

look up the specs on your 33" tires and see how tall they actually are. Could be +or- 1/2".

A GPS is dead-nuts on. Even with the correct 31 tooth speedo gear as you have installed, your speedometer can be very slightly off just due to slight variances in actual tire size diameters.

yeah tires are actually about 32 1/2....wonder if I should have gone with 32 tooth?

I changed out the existing speedo gear with 34 teeth for one with 32 teeth. This has corrected my 5 miles per hour error at 45 MPH with the 33 inch tires (32" actual size) and 3.73 gears.

mine had a 36 tooth...I was really doing about 76 at 70 on my speedo..but at $50 a pop I think I can live with a mile an hour difference
