I uploaded an image, notice one hole is shinny where one of the metal balls has wollered it out

That must be why why they switched to some kind of a synthetic material for the check balls in the 42RLE.

Go hit up your local transmission shops, you might have to buy the while valve body but it gets you back on the road.
