33x10.5 tires versus 33x12.5 tires

I just went from 33x12.5R15 to 10.5. Way lighter each and not as hard on drive line to turn them. Both on 15x8 wheels.
First pic is 12.50 tires.

First, let me say that I think 33’s are right for a TJ! With 31s there’s more Jeep than tire, and with 33‘s there’s more tire than Jeep.

As far as 10.5 versus 12.5, I really think it’s your usage and your preference for look. What are you building for? What are you trying to do? Are you going through mud? Are you on rocks? Are you doing back road trails? Do you live where it rains all the time? Ice? All these things are what you consider when trying to decide between these two widths. There’s no one right answer in my opinion

I like my 33x12.5’s. Love the look, and they do everything I want/need them to do.

And since I moved to the BFG KO2’s, I don’t sling that much crap up like the Km2’s and MTR’s did.

I am running 33x12.5 Cooper MTP and just added 6.25 wide flairs (not in this picture) to keep the mud off the sides.
Love the way the tires perform in mud and on sand.

Got a pic with the new flares? Those look stock. I’m running a similar setup

A little before and after. Apologize for the poor quality pictures, but I just got my lift and 33s 2 days ago and it has been snowing since. I went with 12.5's and I absolutely love them. I have the 3 speed auto with 3.73's and it actually rides MUCH better on road than my tiny little worn out 30s. I think my last tires were too small for my gear ratio because my RPMs were always through the roof, and the speedo was geared for bigger tires (my speedo always clocked me going about 5 miles or more over at highway speeds).
