I desperately wanted a gladiator when it came out and was looking to trade out of my 14 Silverado that was always in the shop . However after driving it ... it's pretty dang anemic. That and the fact that that stupid cross bar hits the head of anyone over 6ft turned me off . If it had a V8 I would have thought about chopping up the seat. I can't even imagine what FCA will want to charge for one though. Plus the dealers will go crazy on top just like when the Gladiator came out . I wound up with a Tundra TRD Pro for less money and it's a way better family truckster that tows everything

How is this different than any of the other concepts they've teased since they stopped putting v8s in the CJ?
There was an interview posted last year that basically said the v8 fits fine, but won't pass any crash test with it.

392 is overkill.
It will sell...but it isn't the mainstream solution they need.
In one sense that engine is just as far over the line as the 3.6 is under it.
It will sell like hotcakes among the "can't have too much power" crowd. To me, even the 3.6 is overpowered!
Slightly de-tuned 5.7 would have been easier, and more affordable. Shock and awe with the 6.4 though.
If a larger engine makes it long term, it will possibly be something around that displacement.
The 392 is just to mess with Ford.
Even if they put the 392 in it...what, a 10k+ package up charge?
