Ok. Another baffling issue. I've searched around and can't seem to find a straight answer.

99 tj 4.0 standard

Cranks up runs fine for a few minutes then it just shuts down.

The gauges don't move apon shut down till it fully stalls out.

Does fine on idle. You'll drive sometimes it does it in first. Sometimes second. You usually can't make it past second. Then it just cuts out. And comes to a stop. Then sometimes it fires up. Sometimes it takes a few tries..

And ideas. Fuel pump is running.

New coil and plugs.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

How about check engine lights, are there any? Scan for codes and see what codes it gives you.

The fuel pump is obviously working part of the time, but if it's just suddenly dying, that makes me wonder if the fuel pump is crapping out at some point.

I have had that problem, fuel pump was weak. Couldn't keep the fuel pressure up at high RPMs for very long. The engine would sputter out and die.
Also I had a second problem a couple of years later.
Pulled the pump and the rubber fuel line from the pump to the
connector at the top of the tank was split . The pump just pumped the fuel through the split right back into the tank. The hose was about 4 inches long.
New in tank fuel hose fixed that problem.
