97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ ECM / PCM Tuning Options

Hi @Chris

I learned recently that "Syked Tuning" now operates as MoPower Calibrations. I don't think the software is for sale any more, but it does seem that tuning services are still offered.

They were at one time being sued by HP Tuners. I used them a couple of times, but got frustrated when the software would expire and I had to beg to be turned back on. Another prime reason I don't use SCT either.

Has anyone successfully used an MPVI-1 to tune their 05-06 wrangler? HPTuners site doesn't specify an mpvi2 or higher to use. Trying to diagnose why I cant read my tune. I couldn't read it on the factory pcm, and can't read my wranglerfix pcm. I get the same error message. I have an MPVI1 pro that I use to tune my LS based vehicles and don't want to upgrade if I don't have to. Thanks

I’d contact HP Tuners for this question.

I used 2 universal credits for my 2005, which may not be possible for your device.

Hi.
I have a failing pcm in a 97 TJ with immobiliser. The vehicle only starts with the blower fan in 2 and the AC on.
I have a spare pcm but would hp tuners be suitable to take the data off 1 and put on the other?

Yes HPT can take the calibration (tune) from one and put it on the other. However as good practice do not copy the calibration file from PCM #1 and simply write it to PCM #2. There is a very real possibility that you can brick your PCM. Instead read PCM#1 and save the file. Read PCM#2 and save the file. Copy the settings from saved file #1 to saved file #2. Write the revised file #2 back to PCM#2.

I should add that if you don’t currently have your PCM licensed, before you do so you should confirm with HPT that they have the SKIM menus for your 97.

Thanks so much.
I haven't bought any tuning software yet.
Do you know which packages apart from HP tuners would do the job?
