Recently had a lifter begin making a loud noise. Kept driving it for a week or two. Finally the puter set off an engine code. When i did the on off key trick 3x, I got this engine code......

Code 43 was displayed four times in a row as above.
Threads I researched on code 43 suggested this was caused by bad valve springs. Well, i replaced my valve springs 5000 miles ago so I ruled that out.
I gave the engine a new set of lifters couple days ago and it now runs smoother and has more power throughout the entire rpm band. It now idles smoother also. Engine has 175k, runs like a dream now.
