Having issues with the front end shaking/ vibrating. It’s at a certain speed, it ranges from 40-55. Jeep is a 97 with a 2 in lift on 31s. Ball joints look good and I just replaced the track bar hoping it would fix the issue. It did not.

I had a similar situation when I first got my TJ. Was perfectly fine motoring around town up until around 40mph/~60kmh but on longer, faster stretches of road it would start vibrating a bit, which would then even out and stop once I had accelerated past 55mph/~90kmh. Is yours doing this too? Turns out mine had 12 year old Duratracs with worn, flat spots. New properly balanced tyres stopped it from occurring and it's been a breeze since. If you have newish tyres, my guess is they just need to be balanced.

And DW will require a change of underwear.

Did you do a dry steering test to find any loose joints? Two people can do it, or one with a camera under the Jeep.

And tires, like Jerry said.

I have a very long thread on this topic recently. In addition to dry test, check to make sure lugs are tightened to spec. My issue had a lot of twists and turns to get it fixed, in the end it was all due to unbalanced wheels and tires. Jerry is tops in my book for his help. Unfortunately my wheels were so bad that I had to buy a new set. But once balanced. I was all set. Shimmy started again, turned out lugs were loose on one of the new tires. Once tightened, shimmy was gone again.

That's good to know about the lugs. I hadn't considered that, but it seems quite obvious now that you mention it. A good thing to check first and eliminate if the problem reoccurs before throwing parts and services at it.

Based on everyone's recommendation, I think the tires may need balanced. They are brand new tires that I had balanced when mounted. Do you guys think it is possible they weren't done correctly/ at all?

Why don’t you swap them front to back

Also if you look inside the rim you’ll probably see weights
