97 Tj startes to die, restarted then fine

I'm driving a 1997 Tj. 4.0. Every time I start it after not being started for awhile, I wait about a minute, then it starts to bog down like it's about to die. So I turn off the key, and restart it a few seconds later. Then it's fine. I always let it idle for several minutes before driving. Then sometimes after all of that, I drive about 100 feet and it starts to cut out again. I then restart it, then it's totally fine. Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated.

If your getting an engine light have you checked for codes? If you don't know how, switch the key from the start to off position 3 times and your odometer should say something e.g. P0145 etc.

The engine light is not on.
