Hello everybody i have a 99 jeep wrangler sahara edition a bought last year!! during the winter i deside to give it some love found out my floor and fram was bad so now i found a 06 jeep wrangler with a bad 4.0 engine budy sais it needs a cam position sensor and a new cam!! Now my question is can i take my engine from my 99 jeep and put it in that 06 and i no i will need the harnes from my 99 and computer to swap in the 06 but what els do i need to do the swap with out having to many issu!! Just wondering if im doing the right move ore i should just fix my fram and floor on my 99 jeep

I would think that swapping the used Long Block w/head from the 99 into the.newer 06 would be the way to go. Leave the computer, wiring harness, etc alone in the 06.
But 99/2000 is the break in block changes for motor mount and accessory bolt holes. So you'd be Frankensteining some things. Might be best to just part out the 99, use the funds to fix the 06 issues.

Power steering fittings may be different. The frames from 97-02 are different from 03-06. With that frame difference came a different steering gearbox. The tiny itty bitty block changes on the 4.0 over the years, ESPECIALLY in 2005, I'd honestly just find a motor from an 05 or 06 and not dick around with it. If it's rebuildable and you have the time or patience, that's something too.
