99 or 06 fuel tank?

Jeep is a 99 but we got the fuel tank with the 06 frame. Obvious differences I see are the fuel pump, filler hose/scheme and venting... Any reason to use one over the other that anyone can think of? I didn't look close enough at the connectors to see if those were different, but if they are, I guess I would be inclined to keep it simple and use the 99 tank...

Any insight would be appreciated.

Not specifically a gas tank issue per se, but there's a common, but easily fixable issue with '05 and '06 TJs that results in gas spilling out when you try to fill up. Not sure if you're working with the affected piece of hose, but you can check out the thread here for more details:

If so, go with the '99.

Stay with your '99 fuel tank, it and its connectors/smog plumbing are a LOT less complex than what the '06 has.
