There was a Chrysler TSB addressing this issue.
TSB #8-15-99 involved installing two replacement BUSS connectors with wiring pigtails that would be spliced into the existing wiring harnesses. These are the two plastic multi pin female connectors are what the instrument cluster snap into to provide communications from the ECM.
That TSB was originally created to address that same problem on XJs where the BUSS connector clips formed oxidation that appeared as black specks interfering with the ECM communications.
