A-10s killing boats

Here's a video some may enjoy, best job I've ever had. There's a squadron at Eglin AFB, FL that practices killing small boats every year on the bay. In the winter when the charter boats are idle they rent their captains, attach fake guns to their boats, and simulate attacks. It's a real hoot. This video was taken from "Red 1", leader of the red boats.

I grew up in Tucson. Watching those ugly duckling killing machines fly around every day was really cool.

I worked on the GAU-8 30mm gun system for a little bit while stationed in Korea. It's a monster.

The A-10 has always been one of my favorite planes since I was a little kid (6 or so) and my dad started taking me to the airshow. Those things are just badass in every way imaginable.

They used to circle my house when I was a kid for memorial day waiting for their flyover. I loved the A-10 like every other person. I had a new respect for them in Afghanistan though, they are extremely helpful when you need them.

I have a special place in my heart for the "Worthogs" One of my first contracts was building the bed down hangers and install a flight simulator for those bad boys. They were all over the sky's of Tuscon, and they had an F-16 baby sitter most of the time!
