A Jeep Called Scout

I think you outdid yourself on that one. That frame looks like it never left the showroom floor!
You pay for what you get...and in this case a very clean LJ. It was expensive, but you won’t find another clean and low mileage like that for a while. There will be more, but why not now lol.

BTW, Anyone have a set of the stock poly bumpers inserts or recommendation on cleaning them up? I’m tempted to try spraying them yet thought I’d find a pair that someone was ready to throw out to try on first.

Are you talking about the jounce bumpers in the upper coil cups?

Get rid of the milk jugs ASAP

It's been a while in the making, yet here are the final product. Very pleased.

In honor of the slowest build trend, here are a few recent items...

Bumper End Caps: See above

Bartact Seat Covers: As reviewed multiple times on this forum, these are the real deal. They're really well made, and fit quite snug. One of my favorite aspects of these is the storage pockets on the front and back of the front seats. https://www.bartact.com/collections...rangler-tj-lj-tactical-front-seat-covers-pair

Bartact Paracord Grab Handles: Pleased with these as well as they appear well made. https://www.bartact.com/collections...rtact-550-paracord-roll-bar-grab-handles-pair

American Outlaw Mirrors: Nice additions when running without the doors. The driver side is perfect, yet the passenger side is a bit off. It was not threaded entirely square, so I'm following up with American Outlaw to gather their response. https://americanoutlawjeepparts.com/shop/jeep-outlaw-mirrors/

ARC Off-road Door hangers: Work nicely for hanging doors out of the way. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075NTZR97/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Spiderweb Shade: Very functional and well made. https://www.spiderwebshade.com/

I also picked up a hoist for it from Harken.

Positives: It does create a one person job for removing the hard top.
Negatives: As installed, it doesn't allow to drop the top all the way to the floor. Make sure you install the lift far enough from the wall to allow for the full raise/lower ability. I installed mine too close to the wall so can only lift it a foot or two, and only drop it onto the jeep (not to the floor). It all has to do with the pulley mechanism and how much throw it provides. I could reinstall it further away, yet I think it would interfere with the garage door. I'm not sure how others are handling that...

Any other mods planned or gonna keep it as is? Great jeep

No mods planned for now. Just starting to enjoy it with the nicer weather, so will keep it as is for the time being. I think the need to update tires at some point will be the driving factor for change. Would like to keep it stock, so I'm thinking inching into some 265/75/R16 K02's at some point

Be careful "hanging" the doors from the upper frame. TJ doors are already weak at the points of connection to the lower door, as it's notorious for cracking at those points.

You do anything special to store your doors when they're off?

So I haven’t been the best at posting updates yet picked up some half doors early fall. They’re in pretty solid shape yet had a little paint scuffed where the frames rubbed a bit. I may have to read up on options of touch up paint at some point.
