Did you use a rusty metal primer first or just straight top coat it? I’m considering ways to paint my axles.Dug into the 30 1st. Stripped and painted it. A yukon small hub kit and upgraded axles are waiting to go in.
A cheap way to strip it down is to get the 50 lb portable abrasive blaster from harbor freight with a good compressor and a cheap bag of coal slagDid you use a rusty metal primer first or just straight top coat it? I’m considering ways to paint my axles.
I like that - thank you! I always have more harbor freight money to spendA cheap way to strip it down is to get the 50 lb portable abrasive blaster from harbor freight with a good compressor and a cheap bag of coal slag![]()
I use a wire wheel and flap disc to de-scale, but blasting it with media is a good way to go as well. Once I've done this, it gets wiped down with lacquer thinner and lint free rag. Rust reformer is applied to any rust. This is followed up with a self etching primer, then it's painted. Sounds like a lot, but the whole process for the front took about 3.5 hours.Did you use a rusty metal primer first or just straight top coat it? I’m considering ways to paint my axles.
Brand new design, which now includes a JJ on the axle side.Oh, and what's the deal with the old vs new style track bar? Maybe I missed that post, sorry.
I went back and fourth on this one, between the SwayLoc (Manual) and AntiRock. The price difference between the two was approximately $180. I picked the SwayLoc because, unlike the LJ, this Jeep will be my daily driver and I do want to maintain the factory swaybar "nimble" feeling when cornering. Also, the posting @Mr. Bills did provided some good insight btween the three options.Very interested to hear what you think of the sway lock. Also how much it weighs vs the stock bar in keeping with the light and nimble theme.
If you haven't seen this, given your "spirited" driving style, you may want to take a look.Ahhh, that explains it. He's blocked me stemming from hurt feelings in the political section. Too bad, I'd be real interested to hear what he has to say on the subject. Well, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it when you get it installed. The price difference isn't that big of a deal on my mind if I'd already be spending that much on an anti-rock anyways. I'm fairly confident it would perform well off road, but it's handling characteristics on road are my question.

Now you know why you don't see my posts. No, I blocked you when I grew weary of your idiotic posts.
