You also need to know the free height of the OME 2941 and 2942 for a real comparison. Ideally, what you want is the lightest spring rate and the longest spring that will give you your desired lift height (~2")

All of our TJ's differ in weight to some extent, so there is no set ride height these springs will give you, only estimates.

OME 942
Free Height 14.96"
160 in/lbs

EXP 55298
Free Height 13.54"
175 in/lbs

I can't find the OME 941 Free Height or Spring Rate
Thanks again!

Looks like the OME 2941 clock in at 15-1/3" Free Length and 140 lbs/in2, which would further solidify your recommendation.

Newbie here. I'm also going with this lift and received an email from Pro Comp stating the 2" rear springs (55298) have been discontinued. I do see the 4" springs (55498) are readily available and priced well. I'm considering purchasing these and cutting them to match the 2" springs. Thoughts?

That’s a bad idea. Only certain springs can be cut because it changes the end of the springs which are designed to fit perfectly in the spring mounts. Better to just get some other 2” springs. There are other options. Springs just hold the Jeep up. If it gives you the ride height your looking for, that’s the main thing.

OME 2933/2941 is a good combo for 2”

Teraflex 2”

Thanks for your input. I could heat and shape the end of the coil to fit but it's probably not worth the effort. I'll take a look at the springs you mentioned.

Not a good idea to heat hardened springs.

I’m going with OME 934/949 since I have an LJ with a hardtop, and going to be hanging a snow plow off the front in the winter and bumper/winch combo in the summer. Given the 934 fronts are for the v8 ZJ, I assume I am going to get more like 2.5” of lift maybe even slightly more… do you guys still recommend the Rancho 0-2” shocks (since they run long), or if I’m in the 2.5”+ range, should I go for the 2-3” Rancho shocks?

Hey guys. I FINALLY am getting around to putting this lift on. Put both front pro comp springs in but the passenger side seems off. Its in the little groove on bottom. Any ideas ? It looks like it will get hing up on bump stop cup.

That lift height is borderline for putting the extended bumpstop up top. The correct solution is to remove the bumpstop extension above the cup, tap the lower perch, and install the bumpstop there. Otherwise the upper extension is too long and when the coils droop it will rub. I had the same issue with my 2” OME.

I thought that part was stock. I guess previous owner added it. Is it easy to uninstall?

Yes, easy to remove. It’s one bolt on the center of the cup. You’ll need a shorter bolt.

I looked at this and sighed. Mine is not a recipe for an affordable lift. It is quality, just not affordable! :cautious:

I realize I'm a week late here, but that's not an aftermarket part. It's the OEM bumpstop; there's no need to remove it. It should work fine when you get the axle completely installed again.
Yeah, my bad earlier in the thread. I went out and looked, and sure enough, that’s a stock part. Sorry to @Vinsane.

The springs look like they'll contact the cups, but once you reassemble everything, the shocks should prevent the springs from dislocating that far again.
It’s when you add the bumpstop in addition to that part up top that the cup can rub the springs when everything is under load. It did that with my 2” OME lift years ago
