A YJ with an LS, 40's, Coilovers, & Spidertrax Axles

Has anyone built or seen a design for a spare tire mount which supports a 40” that either mounts to the tub(not my ideal route) or to a rear bumper?

Trying to come up with a solution for a rear mounted 40” spare that mounts to a rear bumper which is welded to the rear most portion of the Jeep frame.

My only start that has a solid foundation is using the tire carrier hinge from Summit.

I really love this spare build that I’ve posted before that utilizes johnny joints and the tire support arms. But not a fan of the required fold down tailgate:

My thoughts have been the trying to lift the tire of that size up to the carrier. My old back doesn't like this idea. But I'm not a fan of having the fold down carrier like PS or GR offers.
The dual function one that Nashville built IMO is the best option.

think @B00mb00m is workin on something, peek his last few pages.

JJ things is cool cause they just are, but just the barrel would do the same thing. it's an expensive hinge now.
I'm copying BLaine's design from his TJ+6. Dual clamps is key to absolutely locking down the cross-bars during driving. I'm looking forward to getting rid of the ugly spare tire bumpers also. Blaine came up with a bomber way to clamp the crossbars.

Agreed with someguy, not really the right application for a JJ, its a hinge and i don't think the deflection that the JJ allows would be useful here.

Thanks for that, Rick. Here it is - it is much easier getting that tire up there with the swing down.
