Good afternoon everyone. The wife and I just recently purchased a 2000 Wrangler Sahara edition. It has the 4.0 and auto transmission. Got a good deal on it and its pretty much rust free, Anyway, I replaced to clock spring because the airbag light is on, cruise control and horn don't work. Well, that didn't work. Also the horn has been bypassed and directly wired to the fuse box (I have a horn button on the side of the steering wheel.

I am wondering if this could cause my issues? I did not see any broken or cut wires next to the airbag. Is the horn integrated into the clock spring? How do I check? Anyway thanks for helping me out.

The resources section here should have factory service manuals for your jeep. Check out the wiring diagrams

I appreciate it guys. I don't (yet) know how to read a wiring diagram. I'm sure there's a You tube video. Trying to figure out where in the harness the horn would come in.

When you push the horn button it's grounding for the relay in your PDC which then sends power to your two horns.

Gut instinct tells me you have a clockspring issue.

I'd pull the plastic off around the steering column and look at the connectors. Might get lucky and find a corroded connection.

He's already changed the clock spring & found that his horn had been bypassed with a horn button installed on the steering column.

Quick update. Previous owner has spliced into the wires going to the horns at the horn connections. I'm going to have to find out where they cut the wires in the harness and work backwards. Something just didn't look right and I went back to look. I'll keep y'all updated. Love our Jeep and love this site. Thanks for all the help thus far.

What is & isn't working now? It sounds like the air bag light isn't on anymore? What about the cruise control? It'll be easier to try and help you out more if you can tell us more about what you're trying to fix now.

I traced the horn wiring down and reconnected the red/white wires to their respective positions. I now have horn. I still have the airbag light and no cruise control. I have found another 2 wires cut out of the harness as they come through the firewall. (the small harness behind it holds a grey wire that looks like its acting as a ground wire at the front of the jeep.) The black wire was from the button horn on the side of the steering column and has been removed now. I need to find out what these 2 cut wires went to.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, how do I know if I have cruise control? I have the controls on the steering wheel but I have no labeled relay/fuse in the fuse box. I don't want to waste your time chasing ghosts if I don't actually have it. I posted a picture of my engine bay. I believe this is the cruise control.

By this diagram you want a Violet wire & a Brown with Yellow trace or stipe wire & a Red with Yellow trace or stripe wire are your 3 wires for CC.

Near where those wires are located is the CC servo. Does the other end of the cable coming out of it connect to your throttle linkage on the throttle body?

It does connect to the throttle body linkage. It's the middle one of 3 throttle body wires. Going to look for those other wires now. I'll let you know what I find.

Here is your Air Bag wiring diagram.

Look behind your glove box at your fuse panel and verify you have 10 amp fuses in spot #5 & #9. Also do you have the passenger air bag switch underneath your dash in front of the transmission shifter?

Then on the floor board in front of the shifter console should be your air bag module.

Without the module mounted it's mounting holes are here.

The module should be here.

I m missing the 2 fuses (9 & 5) behind the glove box. I'm going to replace those shortly.

That "MIGHT" fix your air bag light. I have a feeling you're going to have to trace out your wiring for the CC circuit.

It did indeed FIX the airbag light. I can't thank you enough for walking me through this. Now, I have to figure out if I'm missing anything in the CC circuit.

FIXED - Jeep horn
FIXED - Airbag light
PENDING - CC circuit.

I can't thank you enough @Wildman .
