Alive Day

Thanks for sharing,

I found out about alive days when my coworker had a heart attack at 45 years of age.

Hats off to you for 28 years of service!!

I dreaded every day over 20 I did. My unit and I didnt exist efficiently together at that time.

I'd honestly never heard the term until I saw the HBO special that used it.

Over those 28 years there were some points where I wondered if I was going to make it. My unit at Ft Ord was one of them... But then I had some that I really didn't want to leave.

The things I take away being retired,

Didn't think those round robins of training were useful,

Yet here I am teaching my family how to properly use a tourniquet, stabilize someone after injury, making fire in a blizzard, etcetera

Funny how we transfer stuff over to home life. My daughter has been raised with a lot of knowledge that I'd learned too along the way.
