2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4X4. This Jeep has been very well maintained. Just trying to sell it because I also have a four door and I don’t need two Jeeps. This Jeep is basically stock minus the front tube fenders I have installed. Inline 6 motor, very cold A/C, 33x12.5 Tires, aftermarket stereo head unit, and Polk audio speakers on the tower bar inside on roll cage. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Looking to get $12,000 obo. Classic muscle cars may interest me as well. 89000 Miles

@SteamRollin, I like ALPHA. Nice looking TJ, half doors, low miles, I think its really beautiful, a great slate. I’d offer 11,500.

Still waiting on the rear ID?

I’m assuming no rust underneath?

So quick question, how many miles is too many miles? I was aiming for nothing over 150k but ideally something 120k and under. I’m looking at spending somewhere around $8-10k for the initial purchase, slightly more if it’s a deal I can’t turn away.
Here is a thought-4.0 's are like diesels- they can outlive all the satellite components (starters, alternators ,etc) They are exceptionally good and trouble free, and most drama is electrical /sensor related usually. But you can get a worn out Jeep if you aren't careful -

Don't overthink it, set criteria:

No rust, tranny type, etc - make a list

Look for good condition and pride of ownership ,

Trust your gut.

Mismatched rims, drivers side mirror gone, appears repainted as underside is white , no spare, front tires look bad, no tag means sat or project. I'd have to be certain it's all original paint, etc . I like the price and mileage.

Additional observations on BRAVO...

-Missing rear fender flares
-Tweaked driver side fog light
-Is the front bumper bent up on driver's side?
-State inspection sticker looks to have expired 03-18

When I slapped down over 20K for my 03 , there was one line of reasoning...do I want this Jeep more than this money?

I was a little oblivious to some things, but not an odometer reading and overall condition.

I believe that’s for 1998 and newer, it did not work for a 97 I tried to look up once.
Well, that sucks, but for anything 98 and later you should be good to go. Looks like @Hawkeye confirmed a 3.55 ratio in the 97's. not a bad ratio to start off with. Ultimately gearing will depend on what size tires and transmission and engine you are running. I still like the looks of that 97...Those are crazy low miles for a 97. If it has the Dana 44 you better get it!

CHARLIE is a Sahara and the Sahara's had the Dana 44 as an option. So did the Sport, so it could be hiding under there. Price is decent, I'd give $9K. Has a Smittybilt Winch. Meh. KC lights look good. Front bumper looks pretty good for a tube bumper, although the D-Rings are stupidly placed underneath and the license plate is wrapped under the vehicle. The Jeep Wave sticker and Lighter on hood could go.

To get everything you need to know about the Jeep, just plug the vin into this link: https://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/jeep/index.html (unless it is prior to 98).
Click on equipment listing in the sidebar then type the vin in. You can get the vin off the dash in front of the steering wheel. There is a little metal tag with the vin on it. Crawling around under the Jeep is a lot harder than typing a number in.

In terms of the three you posted, my vote goes:
1) Alpha
2) Charlie
3) Bravo

I'd bail on Bravo. Not in good shape at all. Charlie is alright, but has definitely been beat on. Alpha needs some new wheels and it looks good to go.

That's strange it does say it only works for '98s and newer but it works for mine lol. Just punched my vin in again to double check this was the site i used and it works for mine. Just had to download the build sheet after it pulled it. Maybe there is a certain month it has as a cutoff.
