New forum member from Utah. last month my wife & I rented a JK in Moab. We’ve been to Moab in our SxS plenty but decided to try the Jeep. We had so much fun that I decided to build a crawler/ streetable machine. I have had a 71 CJ5 and a 78 International Scout many years ago when we lived in Washington but they were both set up for mud. So I had a basic formula I wanted. Tons, gears, 39/40s & wheelbase. Without buying a rig yet I picked up a 89’ F350 matching 60 & 10.25. No rig yet mind you(wife was a bit perplexed)! Later in May I finally found the the poor sole about to experience the life change. I picked up a Salt Lake valley lifer in a 2005 LJ 4.0, 6 speed with 235k on the ticker but had a new engine done 75k ago. It was used for plowing🥴. Lots of surface rust and every exterior bolt is a fight!! No major rust has been found, yet. So the penciled plan:::: 1 inch body, 4 inch suspension, high line fenders, 5:38s, Detroit’s F&R, stretched, caged, Atlas 5.0 & 40s. All by April next year!😳 After all, the event in April 2021 is what brought me to this forum!

Wow, that’s quite a build you’ve got planned, but you’ve got until next year, so I think you’ll have plenty of time. Not to mention you live in Utah, so you’ve already got a head start over most of us 🤣
