Any recommendations on tightening up the steering on my 2001 TJ?

Don’t forget to check for any movement between the steering wheel and the steering gear as well. Any movement is too much. It takes only a small bit of slop in any of the components to result in a lot of play in the wheel.

he did that in post 3, was the first thing we suggested.

Mine was loose when I bought mine and adjusted the lash. That was 75k miles ago and still going fine. Not exactly short term fix. I'd adjust it and get every mile out of it before I replaced it. Only costs you about 30 mins

Well...I changed steering damper, tie rods, sway bar links (just because they were ugly :0), steering box. Steering is a lot tighter now...thanks for all of the suggestions!!!
