Yup, you just need a large team of well-paid, educated, tech-oriented folk to be committed to this cause, while their financial-backers are okay sitting on the sidelines (financially) for 3-5 years so as to allow the developers to be become proficient enough and the software to be competitive enough to draw a large enough market share from FB/Twitter/IG (aka FB 2.0)...

I would suspect solving world peace, climate change, and the cure to cancer to be more likely than the above mentioned scenario!

Hell I'm still waiting on a good alternative to Backpage!

I should clarify. It would be nice for all the crazy rumors, secret information drops, and grand conspiracy theories to come from one spot with somebody to actually hold accountable for what is said. Not legally accountable mind you (unless they foment insurrection or something wild like that) but somebody to point to and say "He's the one spreading this manure." No more posting vague theories or crackpot stories that NEVER pan out to gin up unrest with the crazies, then walking away from what was said with a dismissive "Oh, I was just retweeting something I found interesting. I'm not saying it's true. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't."
