good catchLooks like the rope is coming off of the top, but I’m sure it’s just an illusion.

About to go give this a re try. I watched the warn video and respool it from the bottom. Anything else I should keep in mind?good catch
yikes that's a pain in the ass on flat ground.this is what Warn recommends:
I agree but you have to figure that Warn had to be "safety conscious" when making this clip.yikes that's a pain in the ass on flat ground.
I've been fortunate that I've usually had a reasonably long incline to winch up. My last house had a 170' driveway with a 20' elevation gain. Just let the Jeep idle and winch it up the hill while standing in front of it keeping an eye on the rope.
Fucking stupid insane price for that which is nothing more than a conventional hawse with a little extra decoration on it. A normal aluminum hawse sells for $50 or under and even Blaine's design that at least does something useful, positioning the hook or Safety Thimble out of the way to improve the approach angle, only goes for $150.Dirt Lifestyle has something interesting, but a $260 fairlead is a tough pill to swallow.
Yeah, but they are made in Idaho, so I guess we can pay triple for it? Heck, even $150 would be a stretch, but I do like the simplicity of the concept and no metal projectiles to contend with.Fucking stupid insane price for that which is nothing more than a conventional hawse with a little extra decoration on it. If you want simplicity and no metal projectiles it gets no simpler than this.Yeah, but they are made in Idaho, so I guess we can pay triple for it? Heck, even $150 would be a stretch, but I do like the simplicity of the concept and no metal projectiles to contend with.
The thimble that the rope is attached to is metal. If you want simplicity and no metal projectiles it gets no simpler than this.

Ooh, ooh, I know! What’s another company that we can support now?
Unless I’m missing something, they don’t have winch lines. Seems they have everything else but that.Ooh, ooh, I know!
Factor 55!
Fuck them, they STOLE the design of the Safety Thimble from mrblaine and TRE. I wouldn't buy anything from them if my life depended on it.Ooh, ooh, I know!

Sounds like you had the in-out switch in the out direction when you were loading it. The rope needs to feed in/out from the bottom of the drum.It is, which I just read is the incorrect way, but that was the way the spool turned?
I sure did. I got it respooled up properly this morning.Sounds like you had the in-out switch in the out direction when you were loading it. The rope needs to feed in/out from the bottom of the drum.
