I am looking at some testing tools for checking magnetos and not sure how high of voltage I need to test the coil and condenser. My fluke can do the resistance check and even capacitance on the condenser but not leakage or breakdown… looking at different hipots and a Simpson 383a capacitor checker. Any experience on here? Would I want to recap the Simpson? How can I verify its calibration?
