A worn Scotch bright pad with hot water and Dawn cleans them up nicely. New pads can be too aggressive.

The only drawback I can think of is that now all of the other parts look terrible in comparison.

Oh perfect. I have just the right used/worn out scotchbrite pad.

Hey man, one part at a time. Gotta start somewhere. The old alternator actually blocks it all from view anyways.
