Part of getting a Jeep was to take my wife places I've been on my bike over the years, as well as get out with my son more. We met up with David and his wife for a run to Fonts Point, then a nice drive to Pumpkin Patch and the Gas Domes. Low 70's and a slight breeze - perfect.

Coming down Montezuma's Grade in the town of Borrego Springs. Our destinations lie out there somewhere.

The loamy mud hills that are prevalent in the area. If you stomp your foot in it, you'll go 4-6 inches down before it hardens up.

Pumpkin Patch - made of Concretions. Basically, soil that forms around an object and hardens. They "grow".

Gas Dome, aka Mud Pot. Water passes over magma and gasses from deep below bubble out. This "pot" of slurry is about 5 feet deep and the mud - about twice the consistency - is over 100.
