I have been wanting to upgrade my existing single din stereo to a double din unit to include Apple Carplay and Bluetooth as well as having a rear camera backup installed. My local Auto Electronics shop quoted me a sweet system but it was almost $1000, well above my budget. If I was more comfortable with wiring, I could probably install it myself for half the price but that's just something I don't want to tackle.

As a cheap alternative, I discovered wireless portable units on Amazon that appear to do pretty much everything I want but for under $150. They would either sit on the dash or mount to the windshield and even includes a front dash camera as well as the rear backup camera. Below is an example of one, there are many similar units that are as cheap as $70.

Just wondering if anyone has a similar unit and if they would recommend. What are the pros and cons?

Sounds too cheap to believe there's any quality.

Most of us prefer buttons over touch screens.

I'd stay away from any Chinese based/sourced Android based devices. No semblance of any cybersecurity.

cybersecurity on a headunit that never actually connects to the internet? please tell me more.

Lots of things never connect to the Internet but can piggy back connections.

For example you'll connect the head unit to your phone via Bluetooth. Malicious code could be transfered. You might install an app, same thing. Hard to say what zero days are embedded in Chinese devices but generally in my experience it's a pretty safe bet to assume their all compromised.

Lost Lake before the timber company clear cut the area...

Then we came home down the WABDR...this of course was just before my wife smashed my TJ and I rebuilt in 8 days.

We've got about 24 fires burning all around us to the south and east. Not enough resources. Getting bad.
